little steam boat, - on fryday next, - about 6 or 8 of us - I like the people here, - and think I had better go to church with them Mrs B belongs to the universalists I suppose I shall hear about as many [scribbled and illegible] "abominable theological lies there" as any [struck] any where [illegible and struck out from text] - where can I go where, I shall not [?]! if I try to avoid the common way of talking I think I should be puzzled -- I will try to keep with lovely people whether they have a lovely way of expressing themselves or not, --- I do not see that I can be as retired as I was in Rochester how I did love to stay at home -- I love to think of it, I loved that room of mine and thee and I had so many nice talks we always felt the better for, dont lets let them be the last, - I love to think of Rochester tho I knew so few, when I come again, I will go around and see them all - there is a sunday school for the colored children, 5 or 6 very nicely dressed little boys just passed by from school, the white Ladies teach them Mrs B wants I should go with her, to [struck from text] her clan but said I - I will go teach those who have been so neglected very well I will go take you there, said [struck from text or underlined?] she --- I believe I shall have to come out, ---will I feel very much at home Amy perhaps it will all be right ---- I want thee to come and bring Sarah & Mary - or send them - I want them to come I will write when we get the carpet as I said, the floors are so new that we do not mind - we have other things that make us comfortable ---Amy will thee please send me $15 if thee has received the check - or when thee receives it [entire phrase underlined] there are some few things we will have to gett, - bedding &c [etc.] for the - winter - I shall have more time now than by and by -- direct [?] to me Lockport, Niagrara (?) ny [written along left side of letter vertically] the letter will be at the post office will go for it just Lockport, Niagara, co ny ?
