how shook laughing ^to myself^ - I had brought them to hear something so nice - I think they would not been seen there for the world - especially Mrs Mansfield---well to go on after this man sat down big Henry C Brite [?] commenced talking to us in pleasant [?] told us many things - that spiritualism was true, but that a man's saying that his wife or children or father or mother was dead was an "abominable theological lie and Henry over again said it over [struck out from text] many times - and then told us where he expected to spend his eternity - he said he was not going to skoot [underlined] off - to the stars - O dear - [4-5 words scribbled out and illegible] - I saw they did not know what to do - after he sat down Jiles Stebbins rose and I felt quite at home - that [struck from text] there was a sweet religious spirit, and a beautiful modesty and refinement I never so highly appreciated Jiles before - and these Ladies were pleased with him, but when the singing commenced - we rose - and left, befor the rest - we did not go in the afternoon - and these Ladies have not alluded to the meeting or the speaking since, I think Spiritualist are about as high in general estimation here as they are in Rochester - every speaker was confined to the subject of spiritualism --

now I will tell thee about, our house

in the morning - Monday bright and early - we came to the sweetest little cottage thee ever saw - all covered up in vines, roses, and apple trees, - I only want thee to come by and by and see it - will take it said I - let every - other one go --we took it, and here I am - I have sent for my carpet, and pictures, - the little cabbin surrounded by hallaces [?] is as neat as page break
