[J B Peekham?] with a small farm rather than Daniel [Merril?] with ten thousand
I have written the above to give thee an idea of Marys prospects_ For my part
to know that she will be happier doing good than fostering pride is no
comfort to me [CJL?] companion were invited guests at the wedding which was
at the house of her Father Her husband is from [R.J.?] and consequently they [did not?]
pass thro tho [illegible] were about 50 persons many of course that [illegible] [did not?]
want_but as they [illegible] he Free to some extent they had a good time
Mary wore [flowrs?] (natural) a double ruffle round the neck and wrist and
her ^Hair^ which was cut short [last?] summer when she came home sick was now just long
enough to be [curled?] in her neck and lookd well a large number of cousins
were present [5?] from Charly [Leasing?] _ and after the salutations quite in the style
out side of Quakerdom_ M cheerfully [noticing?] all she [illegible] (After supper) [pulled?]
off her gloves and throwing them on the sofa started for the dining room
where she made herself useful_seated again she calld her little niece and
asked her if the youngest lamb had been fed [illegible] said she would be
[migd?] by the lambs _ her [illegible] replied she would like all the lambs with
her he had given them to her every year successively _ altogether the Wedding was
a success as to Liberty there was low sweet singing in the hall by the cousins
and very lively conversation Isaac & [illegible] not [met?] but very few of their young
friends since they were themselves married almost 20 [year?] since Lilly is a tall girl
has a block of new teeth_and seems now to be hearlthy Lacy is a very good girl
in her [illegible] and so the family is small Thomas [Colling?] has been spending
a week with us it was a treat to me [HB?] did not come out here at all Thomas
was quite sick with Lung Fever but [Mr Choat?] cured him in a couple of weeks
with water and Magnetic [Suction?] it is certainly a very clear tidy method of
Cure I have felt since reading thy letter that perhaps thee would take [Willie?]
with thee to Waterloo and I should feel quite bless’d if we [could?] have
a visit from you after the [MZ?]_it is so [pleasam?] to [come?] on the Boat
to [Aurora?] our Ferry not so convenient as [illegible] is no convey and to us
