Waterloo May 7th 1868 My Dear Friend, Your very kind letter reached me Saturday. I am greatly your debtor for favors conferred. Our circulars have just reached me and I enclose you 1/2 doz. in another envelope and the same to [Mary Doty?]. I hope Mr. Douglass will not take any offence [offense] at the use we have made of his name. We shall be terribly disappointed if he does not come I wish you would explain to him that you advised us to name him as expec- ted.
