her heart & hands are both actively employed. a friend said to me that is seemed to her that Emily would do more good here than there, in gathering and transmitting for the needs of those sufferers. I am very thankful to see the hearts of the people opening and sending forth from the abundance of worldly goods. a "mite for these needy. Our Home circle have all been much interested early - last spring we sent a box to Port Royal. and have made some contributions to those which Emily Howland had lately sent: and are again making some efforts.
