When I reach'd home (after staying one night in Waterloo) I found Mary W. Thayer here (Mary's Daughter of 28 years) a good girl and we are enjoying an indefinitely long visit from her. She wrote to her Aunt Sarah soon so that I did not and Sarah would get the letter when she got back to Chemung -- She wrote us from Mt Morris a few days ago and really her fun seemed dipped in the essence of my visitation to them and [less] a powerful charm to the act of duty which I was enable to carry out. I really feel a joy in the retrospect that [which] has been comforting. The novelties were refreshing and a description of them I will leave till we meet which I hope will be after the heat of summer has pass'd. I want to go now with Isaac but he will tell thee why my mind is much at ease so as to make a short visit to the R. of Macedon quite right just now I can write all how I have been tired & so I may not attempt to do so I have left my dear pleasant home -- and am sojourning with Abbie at a place thee never saw it is however Country and not City tho near by west of the Avenue
