conviction of right & that now although
not aides and abettors in this system
yet they are willing ^to^ spend and he spent

Therefore I think they should endeavor
to be as economical as they can in
order to hold out.
I could not If different arrangements
can be made and government as the
[illegible]slavery society then it best [illegible]
an other person, I would be willing to
go if no other person offered, had I
[therein?] there will, I feel that I stand
partially accepted for services at Port Royal
E [Howland?] and myself expected to
go before this but her mother broke
her arm, and detained her, and I
& [J May?] thought it best be postponed.
