I will take a fresh piece to answer they question in the matter of
money I am in the first place entirely Satisfied with the arrangement
only I feel that it is a [care?] for my dear Amy who I am aware has enough
without it But the case is one of “womans rights” and I presume on thy love
for the Cause [Mrs?] Shane feels best for thee to have the Care and [whoever?] She
has discharged her Mortgage [we?] can make new arrangements but [willd?]
not be as well to continue to let the matter rest _ The thing seems pleasant to
me that I have a little sum still at Rochester. [Shane?] so dispos’d the rest of
my personal & real estate as to feel ready to leave any time but that little
sum will serve to furnish my purse for incidental needs and also to keep
up an intercourse with “The Friends” there I still feel strong attraction
[Hitherward?] and during my confinement (mostly to my room) I have
enjoyd the retrospect of my Sojourn there in a satisfactory manner
I have enjoyd the most elevated intellectual and soul satisfying hours of
my life history there and a foundation I trust has he lain for my
future happiness as well as my present enjoyment so thus you need
only to turn your thought to my present humble dwelling to realize
a quiet old friend living in the faith that Time will bring us
into the same life some day
