Battle Creek Sept. 20th/66 Esteemed Friend Isaac Post I am much in want of a Common 2 Horse Side hill plow & presuming the have them for Sale in Rochester will thee please to have one with 2 or 3 extra points shipt to me at thy earliest convenience have it Marked H. Willis Battle Creek Mich on Recipt of thy answer giving me the price I will Remit to the [illegible] for same & he under many obligations to thee for thy attention I know of no place in this state where the are Kept. we are now on our Farm near BattleCreek I wish to use a Sidehill plow Phebe & I hope to have a visit from thee and Amy which I should be greatly obliged for .. I to day got a Telegraph Dispatch from J S Griffin notifying me that 50 Colored men were on the way to B–C from Washington Johnsons policy is Driving those poor Cretures north to [battle?] our Cold Winters what a pity the [illegible] hand did not dispatch that miserable wretch traitor.. Phebe is [illegible] since her Return She joins me in Thanks to you all for the Many kindnesses rec'ed from you & hope we may be able to return the Same Thoue Truly H Willis
