Dear Mrs. Post Ive so long looked for a letter from you that Ive gived up in despair; & at last I've concluded to write again & see if I cannot hear from you. Many have been the conjectures that have occupied my mind as to the reason why you had never written to me. I thought of it so much by day that I oft dreamed of it by night & not long since I thought you came to see me & you assured me positive ly that you had never rec'd a letter from me since I left Rochester 2 years next month. I thought in the morning I would write to you before night; but my time was so oc- cupied for several days that I could not write & the impression wore off measurably. Then my right arm was taken so lane with rhemmatism that it was nearly impossible to write so it has been delayed till now. I am at home with Mother helping her
