Mrs Amy Post,
My Ever Dear Friend I was so unwell after I saw you, and especially just before leaving Rochester, but it was impossible to visit any of my friends to say goodbye but I said to myself, "I will write Mrs Post immediately after my arrival home." And here it is March, and my promise unfulfilled! But you were ever one of my most indulgent friends, covering with your sweet charity a multitude of shortcomings that many might consider unpardonable sins, and showing a smiling face
