to find some employment to interest my mind and feed my body I have written to Andrew and Merritt asking their advice what I had better to. "tell the children here that I think I will go to Florida Merritt spent last winter there and enjoyed good health and has bought forty acres of land tree miles from Jacksonville with a mineral spring on it he is in N York now expects to go back in the first of Sept last fall when I came back rather than to live in the woods with the children I took a house in this place and have kept a few boarders had Mary Said with me last winter going to school I have often remembered all your kind [illegible] and shall never forget the winters I spent in Rochester Rhoda I rec,d thy letter in due time Amy I wrote thee two or three letters in Newark that I never rec,d and answer too if it would please you I shall be glad to hear from you in much love remain remember me kindly to friends M.
