^We learn by papers that the sun was shining brightly in NY yesterday while we were having snow - so I hope Catherine and friends found no differently in getting to their home after the long ride on rail road_ very likely you will see Cath before you get this and she can tell about the meetings much better than I can write - they are still going or [?]^
March 6, 1872 Dear Brother & Sister We have had the reading of two letters from you for which we have as yet made no returns. It was very pleasant to hear of your safe arrival and visits at Westbury Rather to our surprise Catherine concluded seconday morning to go with Ginny Dickinson and Grace (who have been staying at [Isaac's?]) that evening, and went to depot with that expectation but somehow let the cars pass on without them so waited till yesterday (thursday) morning when they did get off in a storm of wind and snow and cold So, I think she would not have gone if her baggage had not gone on the night before.
