I fear we shall be liable to the charge of
fickleness- but circumstances compell me to inform you we shall be obliged to deny ourselves the promised pleasure of accompanying you on your very pleasant trip.
Delighted should I be- were it consistent- to be one
of your numbers. What enjoyment you will experience! mingling with the good and great. from all parts of the anti-slavery field.
I suppose from Abby’s last letter- we
shall be favored with the company of several of them in these parts. after the anniversary quite another forlorn hope band. moving westward, ho! Wishing you happy times and joyous greetings- with much love I remain thy friend.
Mary—
P.S. Mother and all send their love.
