Dr Friend,
Your letter came yesterday. I enclose $2.00 as you suggested, and will send you $5.00 more some time next month. As to the green over dress [?] as you have it with you, you may make it up as a part of my dress. If you wish any thing from Tonawanda, you must write to Mama to give it to me in Dec when I go up there, and I will then send it to you by express.
I have some business with Mr Pease in Albany, but I cant tell
when I shall go down. Tell Newton I am much obliged to him for his
letter, and hope he will [tear in paper] himself. He should attend to his writing
and composition. Now is the time for him to write learn to write
our language, and he must take the greatest pains to be accurate.
His grammar is not very correct as yet, but he will improve with
practice.
