at home Elisabeth Titus daughter w/George Titus was buried to day a great concourse of people like quarterly meeting [Phebe?] Johnson (she had just come from Pdela) John D Wright and others not forgetting Mary U Post preached long but to us not very much in the life of others speak of liking the communications we had considerable company among whom were James and Elisabeth Mott The short time we were away changes many and varied occurred E Titus was taken sick and died the next day after our return John Pat -terson drank laudanum through mistake and Died brother William had his poor turns or fits 5 in one day and very hard. This was on first day he remained so poorly that they came for Mary on fifth day father is quite poorly perhaps rhiumatism Mother not quite as smart your father not much different Matilda Rushmore not as well [?] with company we went yesterday but did not see her the Dr forbids it for the present Mary R quite sick tho better some Ephraim begins to sit up a little Stephen Post had a very narrow escape of life he was in the barn one of the men had been [foddering?] and was in the yard on finishing he threw the fork up in the window which came down the wall under which Stephen was standing and the tine ran in his neck stunning him considerably and frightening them all very much it has done remarkably well and we hope the danger is past Uncle James has hoped the application had been effectual but it appears there is a [little] remaining it has [?] a great deal this time he talks of going down again so much for health or rather sickness.
