Post March 10, 1865 Amy (Kirby) Post Kings Ferry My dear friend It seems a long time since I heard from Theo. not since Abbie visited us in Sep. She gave a very lively account of her visit with her old friend. I love to think of you and should not have been this silent, but my nervous strength gave way soon after I enter in my 70th year and now on the 6 of this [illegible] entered the 71st so I have been an invalid and though I have not missed a meal of lost one whole night sleep I have not been able to use my brain to write letters much - nor attend to any work I have how ever going fresh and strength so as to make myself useful in the kitchen though keeping my room mostly [illegible] as Libby J has also been an invalid for months and her elder daughter attending school. I have been glad to be able to wait on myself much and have [illegible] a very little exclusively for me - we have both found electricity very useful and hope that warm weather will restore as more perfectly - Dorcus Collins has been generally much improved in her health and yet by overdoing she has been very ill though seems [illegible]
