in the fall but this winter she has again been down with a fever. She is mending now and I trust her will eventually prove for the best. I am obliged to view things in the most cheerful way and to solace myself as I best can for I am ___ to prevent or change events so I just take a view of [illegible] trials and so make the comparison and the result is in favor of patience and I try to have faith so ___ along. I don't want to impose a list of grievances on my precious friends, but I don't know how to write unless I do talk some of our personal [illegible] and I know little else but what I draw from reading and that is an unfailing ____ light to me and to know that my beloved friends also have the same. Abbee has I presume [illegible] to the farm/ which is within 9 miles of [illegible [illegible] village her health has been better than [illegible] [illegible] the past winter but the snow has kept her at home. I have not seen her since Sep. Delia Hal sted is now at Kings Jacobs visiting. Betsy Kane is also there a victim of [illegible] and a -Delia had to resign her school in or near Phi- on account of her weak eyes
