I attended one setting and part of another
held at Brooklyn I thought the manag=
ers of that meeting did not act on very
liberal principles was disposed not to
let any speak but what they had
fixed on. so much so that they tried
to adjourn the meeting about 11 o'clock
as that was voted down they called
on a certain one to speak cutting off
several that tried and when he set
down the chairwoman adjourned the mee-
ting but Lucy Stone stepped forward
and hoped the meeting would not adjourn
yet as it was not 12 o'clock she had
something to say to the women she
spoke about half an hour most exently
afternoon she spoke again very good
I had to leave before the meeting was out
as I came home that night Lucretia Mott
came in the meeting a little before I
left I think women have much of the
same eliment in them as men when
it is brought to exposure
