written to Lucy Stone, A. M. Powell, Frederick Douglass, Charles L. Remond, C.D.B Mills, Geo. W. Taylor, and Giles B. Stebbins. – Mr. Mills to invite Mr. May. Dr. Strowbridge writes me that she intends to be with us. I spoke of her for Chairman. W^m^ Barnes said he would like either her or Frederick Douglass. I do not yet know what we shall do about music. -- I have written Mr. Powell about The Hutchin- sons. What do you think of our try- ing to get one of them, and which one would you prefer? We would prefer a lady singer if we could have one every way desirable. Not a voice was raised for G.W.B. – What about Mr. Hough. I am not authorized to invite him offici- ally, but, shall a few of us make a private contribution of something more than enough to defray his expenses and try to induce him to come? I presume it would do him much good.
