1953 Kaleidoscope: Where Do We Go From Here?
Kaleidoscope was the name of the College for Women’s musical theater group. Quilting Club was the male student counterpart. Both groups wrote, composed, and produced original musical comedies between 194X and 1961.
The Archives has recordings of almost all of the productions. The plots (if one can call them that) often included University events. The basic story for the time-traveling "Where Do We Go From Here?" focused on the University’s need to raise money to merge the College for Men and the College for Women, and to move the women from the Prince Street Campus (where the Memorial Art Gallery is) to the River Campus.
