Lewis Henry Morgan

Lewis Henry Morgan (1818-1881) was a Rochester lawyer and distinguished American anthropologist. He left his residuary estate for the education of women at the University of Rochester in memory of his daughters who died young.

Morgan Hall, a wing of the Women's Residence Hall (now Susan B. Anthony Hall) was opened 1955.
